About the retreat

Join master yoga teacher and healing artist: Tracy “Sarvani” Aleksic for a unique experience in Italy, and spend a week among the rolling hills of Tuscany!

Tuscany: the essence of Italy. Beautiful nature, stunning food & wine and ancient history.

How to get there: fly to Florence (Firenze Peretola FLR) and we will organise a group transfer to our venue on arrival day.

Typical schedule: We start the day with yoga, either in the yoga shala with wooden floor and beautiful style, or on the outdoor terrace overlooking the olive groves and vineyards. The yoga room is equipped with the newest Manduka mats, bolsters and straps. Followed by a genereous brunch, our day is free till the afternoon class. However, we have included a plenty of programs: a guided day trip to a historic winery by electric bikes, and a guided sightseeing in Florence.

You can spend your time relaxing in the gardens, by the pool or in one of the chill out areas or discovering the area by foot, walking through farms and forests and getting to the river.

Alternatively, you can book the full experience package, that includes a guided day trip to Siena, a guided day trip to San Gimigiano, visit to a natural thermal spring and a bimini basket making workshop. All programs include transfers and entrance fees, plus a local, certified guide.

What to do: Tuscany is filled with history. From the Etruscan, through the Roman to the Medieval and Renaissance Period, we can find many historic buildings throughout the countryside. Literraly every stone has a story to tell.

Food: We will be pampared by a team of private chefs. Most of the food is procedent of the very same farm where we will be staying, some are coming from neighboring farms, but everything is organic. Dinners include local wine too!

Monteriggioni is a commune in the province of Siena in the Italian region Tuscany. It borders on the communes of Casole d’Elsa, Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Colle di Val d’Elsa, Poggibonsi, Siena, and Sovicille. The town is architecturally and culturally significant; it hosts several piazzas, and is referenced in Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy.

It is a great starting point to discover the area.

Things to do

Ancient Walking Trail:  Via Francigena
The Via Francigena is the ancient route that in medieval times connected Canterbury to Rome. Nowadays it remains a path of pilgrimage, as the way of Santiago di Compostela but also represents a different way to discover Tuscany. Take a journey through time in close contact with the environment and locals.

City of Art
In Tuscany, there are 7 sites protected by Unesco and some of them are very close by. Monteriggioni is within walking distance (1.8km) and once in the village, you can take a visual tour of the towers of the Tuscan countryside. Siena (15km) and Florence (45km) considered being open-air museums. Pisa with its pendant
tower (100km), San Gimignano (25km) and Volterra (40km) with their competing medieval towers are within reach. Valdorcia (38km) and it’s surreal Tuscan landscapes, Pienza (85km), San Galgano (39km), famous for the prophecy of the sword in the stone and Arezzo (85km) where you can find beautiful alfresco from Piero della Francesca. Colle val d’elsa is just 10 km away and has a stunning old town still out of main tourist circuits.

Wine Routes and Panoramic Drives
Chianti is another entertaining itinerary that is quite close. The main sites to visit are Castellina in Chianti (15km) Radda in Chianti (25km) and Greve in Chianti (34km). Just the drive through the wine cultivated hills justify the excursion.
Other destinations rich in history, combining a panoramic drive with a degustation experience are Montalcino (55km) with his Brunello wine. Montepulciano (75km) known for the Nobile di Montepulciano wine and Bolgheri, famous for its cypress-lined road and the prestigious Sassicaia wine.

Relaxation / Thermal
For a tour with a restorative soak, visit Bagni Vignone, (40km) a medieval village built around a pool of natural thermal hot spring water. Rapolano Terme (45Km), Bagni San Filippo (80km).
