the route - coastal towns
PALMA DE MALLORCA
The capital of the island. It has a beautiful historic downtown, and a cosy restaurant and bar area called Santa Catalina. We will be spending the first and the last night in Palma port. You will be flying to Palma de Mallorca (PMI) and the port will be a short taxi ride from the airport.
A stunning natural port with long history, now turned into an exclusive residential town. It is one of the major sailing ports of the island. The coastal streets are filled with great restaurants and exclusive shops. There are some attractive little bays (calas) close by. The port itself is offering high end services, it also has a pool.
PORT DE SÓLLER
A picturesque coastal village, famous for its historic tram, and the train that connects Sóller with Palma. Originally, the train was delivering oranges (the main product of the Sóller valley) and other goods to the capital’s port.
Port de Sóller is protected by a large, natural bay. The old fishing harbour is packed with delicious restaurants offering the daily catch and Mallorcan wine.
It is also the starting point for a day trip to Sa Calobra bay.
If you love long, white sandy beaches, you will love this part of the island! Es Trenc and Colonia Sant Jordi, is a km long, natural, sandy beach with dunes and pine bushes behind. Recently turned into a protected natural park, all beach lovers dream of this area.
My personal favourite: one of the most picturesque and authentic coastal villages on the island. A true gem, when traditional lifestyles and locals still can be seen. Located in a protected and closed bay, surrounded by stunning caves and natural rock formations.
Porto Colom has a beautiful beach promenade that offers a nice sunset walk around town and some delicious restaurants.
The ever popular star of the Mediterranean, Mallorca has a sunny personalitythanks to its ravishing beaches, azure views, remote mountains and soulful hill towns.
The boat leaves from Palma – Can Pastilla port (exact location will be confirmed before your trip). Fly to Palma de Mallorca (PMI).
